Since 2000, the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) has been collecting data from students at four-year colleges and universities around the country to assess the extent to which students engage in a variety of educationally effective activities. The university uses this survey to glean information about a number of topics, including academic rigor, how you spend your time, and what sorts of activities you currently or plan to engage in, including research, learning communities, and service-learning. NSSE is cosponsored by The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and the Pew Forum on Undergraduate Learning. The University of Nebraska at Kearney has participated in the survey in 2002, 2003, 2004, 2007, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2016, 2019, and 2022.
